Wheelie Dude

This guy is my hero... dudes name is David, he had his bike in for repairs.. bike felt very strange with both wheels on the ground but when you try to wheelie it suddenly it makes sense. This guy did this all the way aound the back parking lot with out putting a foot down. wicked cool. The bike is actually an old bmx bike with a Sturmey Archer 3 speed rear hub.. the shifter mounted on the left side. The bars are stretched way foward and an extremely layed back seat post pushes the rider right on top of the rear wheel. I tried riding it and could get a couple parking spots out of it but i was just a bit nervous trying to freaking SHIFT... ha amazing stuff.

One less Car

rode my bike to work the other day... 70 miles.

I decided to bring all my camping gear with me as a test ride. It was an awesome ride. I was amazed at the speed i can hold while riding with 40lbs of equipment... though it was tough to get up to speed I could maintain 16-18 mph fairly easily. I will be riding from the shop up to Santos for the 13 hours of Santos laborday weekend. I had planned a camping trip for the weekend, but my plans have changed a bit. I will still be camping but ill be doing the 13 hour race on my single speed as well. not sure if im going solo or team but it will be a long weekend of riding.

66 FIXED!!!

DUDE! checked out a new shop in my home town of St. Pete today called 66 Fixed. The owner and only employee is a guy named Mike.. Cool guy.. The shop is dedicated to fixed gear and single speed bikes. Being a single speed junkie myself this totally turned me on. Its a tiny little shop just off of MLK(the street I live on) on 1st ave N. Everything in the shop is based on the idea of running one gear. Lots of fixie hubs and deep dish wheels in all colors.. track frames.. single speed and fixie cogs... this place is a specialty store for sure. Check them out at http://www.66fixed.com/ or stop in when you are in town. awesome stuff.
